UltraMAP Reviews: Underwater cables video

It is a common mistake to think that we receive our internet thanks to the satellites in the sky when in reality, only about 1% of our data comes from the 'clouds.'

So where does it come from?

We thought we would let this short video from WorldNews.com explain.

Thin underwater cables hold the internet. See a map of them all.

The video above is interesting and gives a very good overview of the subsea communications network. However it is also a little brief, missing out the importance of protecting subsea cables from damage which can be caused by vessels or anchors.

With the technology of AssetMonitor, UltraMAP is able to monitor subsea and surface assets to help prevent costly damage.

If you would like to know more about the protection of subsea cables, then contact UltraMAP.
